How do I fit the spring part of the whip?

You can buy a little dome shaped mount that the spring whip will screw into.

You need one of these:

www.thunderpole.co.uk/fixed-body-mounts.html

Your antenna wire should then just screw to the bottom of it.

Then when you've fitted it, read this:

www.thunderpole.co.uk/cb-radio-guide-swr.html

understand it and then get one of these:

www.thunderpole.co.uk/swr-meters.html to tune it in.

Mine wont swr in perfectly on the spare wheel carrier have tried everything with my radio expert (father),is good enough for laning tho.i only have ashort aerial tho.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI would also look for a 'bayonet' q/d fitting saves keep on having to unscrew the antenna imo ........ ;)

You might need a better earth

Or the coil might be too close to the car body

Nothing wrong with the earth,its down to a short aerial and it being surrounded by metal.does what I need it to do and hasnt melted the cb yet so its all good.

I don't think its a metric thread looks too fine to me...

It's not worth mounting it just for looks I would order the mount it will be down in a few day
