Cam sensor was created by chillisteve
Ordered a new cam sensor as my 1999 jimny cuts out as soon as it gets hot in traffic and then wont start for 10 mins.
My question is how difficult is it to change?. I assume its the black thing on top of rocker cover at back of engine near the bulk head?.
Will i need any sealant or gaskets when i replace this? and is it just 1 bolt out swap it and tighten it up again?.
The car drives great as long as theres no traffic and you dont stop
Thanks
Steve.
Its a sohc g13bb engine. Hard top manual

You should check the timing once you've done that, there is a resistor under the dash that is changed to set the timing.

You would need a timing light. As long the engine and ecu etc have never been swapped you shouldn't need to though.
