The terminals are Japanese post type with the negative terminal to the left if you hold the battery with the terminals closest to you.
The performance of batteries varies between manufacturers. Typically the lowest performing 054 batteries have a capacity of 30ah and output of 260amps which adequately meets the electrical load requirements for the Jimny.
Because the Jimny's small petrol engine has low starting power requirements the standard battery is relatively small. In situations where higher electrical output may be regularly required (winching for example) higher spec or larger batteries should be considered.
