Introduction

Most (if not all) Jimnys 3 are produced with only a front pair of speakers installed.

Jimny 3 have the factory option of having a pair of rear speakers too.

Adding a pair of rear speakers significantly improves the performance of vehicle's audio system (i.e. passengers' music listening experience).

This guide details how to install rear speakers into Jimny 3.

While the rear section of vehicle's cabin interior is dismantled and removed in order to install rear speakers, you might use the opportunity to perform some additional works in the exposed cabin sections along the way.

Guide

Every Jimny 3 has factory prepared holes in the body for the rear speakers, and the common wiring connection point for both speakers is already present in the rear section of the body. However, additional wiring is required from that point to both speakers themselves (either DIY extensions or special factory harnesses).

A nice Brazilian Jimny owner wrote a very good guide on installing rear speakers in a Jimny 3.

You can also refer to quick illustrated guides on how to remove the rear seats and also on how to remove the lower side trim in the rear cabin (both procedures are prerequisites to be able to install the rear speakers).
