how to fix bent radius arm mount.

I did this a while back crossing over a metal irrigation pipe that was across a lane!!!






ive tried the obvious hitting it with a hammer with no success as its a bugger to get to so anyone got any ideas that a DIY mechanic with limited resorces could try??

That's something I wouldn't expect to see bent. I was looking at the radius arm. I actually messed up my hand permanently trying to free off one of those bushes on an SJ. I was using a club hammer. I'd probably try a very, very large stilson and if it is far enough round then a 7" vice.

i know but then alot of people fit radius arm mount guards so i guess its actually a weak point. is j999pre on here? would mean cutting it off the chassis then welding a replacement on which is beyond me

My drivers side has the problem... Solution?

If all else fails apply heat and repeat

Try an ajustable spanner NOT adjustable pliers may be worth dropping the arm out or HIT it with a HAMMER dont tikkle it with a hammer

jerseyjimny: how would a prybar help? theres nothing to lever against?

This is why you should have guards

Undo that bolt in the pic

Once the arm is out find some thing that fits snug in the gap so it wont bent to much out of shape

didnt expect to bottom out to be honest didnt look high enough to hit. guards are on my list as a priority mod.

i'd leave it personally, won't cause any harm and i'm lazy
