Clutch Changing? was created by SteBurns
My Jimny is due a new clutch, and I've got several options...

- Buy a clutch off eBay or similar and let my mates try and fit it in their spare time.
- Pay a friend who's a mobile mechanic to come and change it.
- Take it to a garage and leave it with them.
- Ask on forums (here) for someone who'll fit it cheap.

Here are my questions...

- Are Jimny clutches easy to change being high off the ground with good access?
- What kind of clutches are they, hydraulic or cable?
- Are generic eBay clutches any good?

Also, do you guys have any suggestions or advice? I'm not a mechanic but all my mates like getting their hands dirty, but don't have much spare time on their hands!

the clutch is easy to change, if i was you id get a clutch from euro car parts theyre abour £80 and theres a how to guide on here that details exactly how to do it. Its a cable operated clutch also it took me about 9 hours altogether to swap my gearbox and clutch and i'd never done anything this indepth before took me so long because i didnt have the correct tools or enough of the tools i needed a long pry bar and a 14mm socket with a big breaker bar to undo the awkward gearbox bolts took me a while to get the gearbox out and back in again (changing the clutch doesnt have this problem just pull the box back as far as you can) id say its ok for a diy fix yourself i managed to align the cluth with my eyes as the gearbox was out of the way i just got my head where it should have been but you can get clutch alignment tools if you want to do it that way

hope this helps!

Hello, I’m suggest use only Suzuki genuine parts

Clutch cable

Clutch plate and disc (AISIN), and bearing

Oil seal gearbox

Replace gearbox lever command oil seal

Change

Disassembly

Older clutch

Change Ball bearing (pilot bearing)

Assembly - center disc with especial tool

Replace oil seal crankshaft, and tighten the bolts to the specified torque. use threadlocker

Requires a car lift, centering disk tool and Torque Wrench to do a good job

Success
