Solid collar for differential pinion upgrade

If you are using significantly larger tyres, more powerful engine, heavily modified gearbox or transfer box, or differential lockers in your Jimny, the standard crush type collar in the axle differentials can sometimes collapse and cause expensive damage.

The preventive solution is to upgrade (replace it) with a solid collar.

Solid collars are cheaper than the standard crush type collar and come with shims, so you can set the pinion preload correctly.

It is not known if this solution has any disadvantages - someone should write about those.

One of solid collar manufacturers for Jimny is Rob Storr.
