Hi Steve
Well Matt has been in touch and should have the rack ready for the feet welding Mon/Tue ish
So just before I go I've to take the std bars off.
Could you advise on how you got to the nuts to remove them?

Just pop the plastic end caps off with a small flat blade screwdriver, the nuts are visible once the end caps are removed

Cheers Steve.
I'll have a closer look, I did have a quick look for some end caps but couldn't see any. They must be better hidden than I thought they would be :-/

Hopefully pictures with the new rack soon ;-)

Cheers Steve :-)
That's why I couldn't see where the bolt covers where. I expected the end caps to have little flick out grommets and not the whole cap to come off.
At least I know what to do now :-))

Just been looking through your thread awesome jimny project :)

Love the awning defiantly getting one on my next jimny.
I used to tow a trailer tent behind mine, the jimny towed it pretty well but that roof tent looks wicked and is a much more practical solution for long distance.

keep up the good work.

I've got a new favorite build thread!! That little critter looks great! How did you mount the limb risers to the fender panel? I'm going to start tinkering with mine shortly, but anything I do to it needs to be reversible so that I can pass the JCI inspections out here. If I add anything that increases overall length or height, then I will pay dearly when I get it inspected next.

Hi Cold6983

I presume when you say "Limb Risers" you mean the Bush cables to the roof rack. If you do they are mounted using a slightly modified Discovery Bracket which bolts under the first Wing (Fender) bolt
