To be fair dealers are kept in the dark about new models so the continue to sell the existing ones, not just suzuki but all of them, they are not a reliable source of information.

Temeraire (2018 quasar grey automatic)
One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

Takanori Suzuki a senior manager in Suzuki has talked about the new Jimny and advised it will be similar to the old model.

Talking to a number of Suzuki dealers, they advise they hear about new models via the Internet and Suzuki UK only tell them about the cars a few months before the cars arrive at the dealers. Similar to Subaru Dealers.

I think Mr Suzuki knows more about the future models than UK dealers.

I must say that if you look at the underside of the "Scoop" pictures of the Jimny, the suspension looks to be similar the present model. Therefore, I for one am not convinced that the car "Scooped" pictures published around August is the new car.

that is what the man on the other end of the phone said no official date,so if he new they have lost a sale one way or another,if they could give even an estimated arrival time could have made the difference

You spoke to 2 dealers we have told you are not told about new cars until they are only a few months away.

It is obvious that an actual release date is many months or a year away.

The people you speak to as an ordinary punter on the phone to Suzuki are very junior and will only tell you what is on their script and if they advised you what was not on the script they will get sacked.

Therefore you like us will have to wait until someone authorised to release the info does that.

You are the only person on the forum saying nothing will happen with the Jiminy.

Hoping not to beat this to death but this from Global Suzuki continues to give me some hope:

www.globalsuzuki.com/globalnews/2017/0922.html

In their announcement of cars they plan to show, they have this list of "other production models" just before their list of motorcycles:

Compact cars: Escudo (called the Vitara in markets outside Japan), New Swift Sport, Ignis, and Baleno
Minicars: Jimny, Hustler, Alto Works, Alto Lapin, and WagonR (wheelchair-friendly version)

I started out with nothing & still have most of it left

Can't wait any longer - I've been holding off ordering a Jimny for a year.
About to put the order in for the current SZ3.

I'm guessing with the no show, Suzuki need to made a design change to the prototype seen in the spy shots ; mechanical or customer feedback ?

Here is the Suzuki line up for the Tokyo show, looks like no reference for a 4th Gen Jimny unless they are going to do a surprise unveiling? :(
