Crunch time was created by Daniel30
Went out in the jim today about 20min drive and it crunched about 6 times going in or back down to 2nd gear.

Assuming that the oils were fairly recently changed then yeah possible box issue.

Sounds like a syncro hub is tired if it's just crunching 2nd?

Verify the level of gear lube in the transmission is at the recommended level. If you cannot touch the gear lube at the fill hole; then it may be low. Start looking for gear lube leaks... If fluid needs to be added; make sure to use the proper type (GLI3,4 or 5) fluid.
Some gear lubes have sulfur content that can affect brass/bronzed synchros.

The FSM indicates the level should be just below the inspection hole and 75W/90 gear lube is recommended. The transmission holds approximately 2.5 pints.

Well very strange a 20min drive to the mechanic today for the crunch in 2nd problem and it never done it. The plug had no fragments on it either so some fresh oil drive back was sweet as a nut :D

Did you check the clutch adjustment at the same time?
