Hi y'all!

I wonder which type/model of clutch you use in your Jimny, how it works for you and why you have chosen the one you got (If you did)?

Clutch is slipping, so I need to decide what to chose.

Lucas, the cheapest one i could find with a recognizable name on it.. complete clutch kit bought from mister-auto.
Slight vibration around 2000rpm like others have reported after changing clutch. It has three springs but original has 4. some have six. i would buy a better one next time, and with four springs to see if vibratoins go away.. It slips a bit if i drive offroad with too heavy throttle with my m16a but isn't smelly going uphill on highway like my old one was.
It would be ok if you are on a budget and don't go too much offroading and have m13a engine i guess.

Norway 2005 Jimny M16A VVT, 235 BFG MT, 2" Trailmaster, ARB rear lck, 17%/87% high/low gears.

Sorry to hear about the vibrations, could it have been something wrong with the clutch from start?
Do you mean people get those vibrations after changing to that specific model of clutch or just any model?

My own plans are kind of unsure but I have thought about raising it 2-3" with other suspension and what goes with such modification.
Putting bigger tyres on it, change the gear ration in low and possibly get other unlockable diffs.
A little bit of turbo boost would be fun but we will see where it goes, at least it's going to gnarly offroad terrain and I will most likely need a bit of extra clearance under the car.

My theory is that the three springs difference to the original four springs makes the vibrations due to a change in the mass of the clutch plate.
Other users have reported to get these 2000rpm vibrations when using cheap clutches.
I would go for a clutch similar to the original one with four springs with what i know now..
There is also stronger aftermarket clutches you should choose if you plan on bigger wheels and stronger engine.

edit: 2000rpm vibrations have decreased in the time passed since i changed the clutch though..

I see ...

There is the Excedy Safari version with more clamp pressure and some other features in the BJ shop, more to read about them on the Excedy webpage.
Then there will be different ones with pucks an such, some with metal and carbon mixes.
Have not seen any full faced carbon/metal mixed clutch like the Spec Stage 3+ yet.

Is it recommended to replace the clutch cable to while at it?
Clutch pedal has felt a bit heavy and the pedal has also had a very short distance of slip to bite, but it might just be because of how it's contructed and/or the wear of the clutch.

Best Regards
Mattias
