Opening a can of worms here;

Where are you?
How much is a new jimny?
What's the spec list?

I just noticed that here in Dubai, we get one single trim model, a choice of manual or auto and that's about it.

Retail prices here are 55000aed or 14900 USD, while in Austrailia, the Jimny retails for 27999aud or 20750usd. I know specs vary from market to market, but I can't see 5000usd per unit in changes

A lot of the difference will be local Vehicle Tax

Cheapest Jimny in UK is £13000 or $16900 USD

Of course you can never actually buy them at this price - its currently £13484 or $17615 USD "on the road"

Cheapest Jimny in Croatia is 150k HRK wich is 23.5k $ and "top model" goes for arround 170k HRK or arround 26.5k $.

To put things in perspective, average wage is under 6k HRK or 900 $, one liter od petrol is 1.6 $ and janjetina goes for arround 12 $ a kilo :D

I'm in the Philippines and purchased a new Jimny in 2015. At that time it was about $17500 USD for the automatic. It was about $1000 less for the manual. Price hasn't changed much for the 2017.

Asking price versus specifications is probably a good approach. When I bought mine, it didn't come with air bags or anti-lock brakes. It has the M13 engine but it is non VVT. Obviously a difference to what was being sold through the rest of the world market. Although the engine apparently hasn't changed here, I believe the safety features have now been added. I'm not in the market for a new one (although might be in 2019) so I haven't paid too much attention.

Oh.....and janjetina is lamb. I guess I should have known since my grandparents were from Croatia but I I had to google it.

I started out with nothing & still have most of it left

Almost half of the price was import tax and fees..

Jimnys where imported to Norway in bulk. 1999 models where sold 99-2002 as long as stocks lasted.
then again 2004 m13a models where sold 03 -04
2005 VVT models 05-06 (07)
2008 or 09 models (facelift bumper) sold until 2010 (11)
then i lost track but i think 2012 models was the last bulk. 2013 or 2014 only 17 where sold, one of wich where bought by one of the richest guys in Norway Olav Thon. www.hegnar.no/Nyheter/Motor/2013/06/Her-er-Olav-Thons-nye-bil

2014 was the last year of Norwegian MT Jimnys NOK 235000,- acc. to tax office lists, NOK 255000,- for AT. ~23-24500£ with todays currencies.

Norway 2005 Jimny M16A VVT, 235 BFG MT, 2" Trailmaster, ARB rear lck, 17%/87% high/low gears.
