M13A 2003 was created by leeds83
Hi Guys

Just question to any experts out there.

I'm replacing a 2003 DOCH Jimny engine and looking on Ebay there are few about, but checking that any of the 00-05 M13A will be exactly the same and fit straight in.

Not sure if my engine has a belt apposed to a chain and this makes any difference?

Also any tips would be useful from anyone who's done a swap, reason for replacing is it overheated and no compression.

My other problem is breakers keep telling me my engine code is g13bb. It can't possibly be at it's DOHC for a start.

Any suggestions why I'm getting this info.

That registration number you sent shows it as a G13BB which is strange as it is a Japanese built vehicle which should not have this engine this late.

However it is possible the dealer made an error when registering the vehicle.

Best way to verify is to post a picture of the engine.

Thanks for getting back to me

Does the G13BB have DOHC 16v version?

Thanks for confirming Martin

Mine is certainly an M13A engine 100% in that case. It's looks totally different from the G13BB. It's strange it comes back with that engine code.

This site seems to think it's M13A too:

THat is certainly an M13A which is correct for the model/year.

I guess the dealer put the wrong engine on the registration form.

Looks like a none vvt from the picture. As it looks to be missing the lump at the front.
