Squeaking/chirping under acceleration was created by Cameronmike
Over the past few days a squeaking noise has developed, similar to a squeaky wheelbarrow noise, that only occurs under acceleration. Its most noticeable under heavy acceleration and is not constant but say under normal accelartion from a traffic light will sqeak a few times in 1st and the same through 2nd and 3rd but less noticeable in 4th and 5th. Been driving about for a few days with the windows fully down and the noise appears to be coming from some where under the car and to the rear. Its a 2001 with m13a. Had a quick look under the car but could t see anything obviously wrong, any pointers on what to look for would be great.
Cheers in advance, as always the helps much appreciated.

Its very hard to trace a noise on a moving car. It could be the fan belt slipping.
Check for rubber dust around the alternator pulley.

Try spraying some silicon lube on your rear suspension bushes, one may have become delaminated, squeek would be the slight lifting of the rear under acceleration.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Check the crankshaft pulley. Mine made a noise under acceleration in 1st & second for a few weeks before the crank pulley outer ring came off when I was accelerating away from a set of traffic lights.
Funnily enough, I was experimenting with the idea of revving it up a bit in the gears, rather than changing up as soon as I could, because I read a post on here that these teenie weenie engines need to be revved a bit, or it might have lasted a bit longer....
