I finally got round to ordering the new sensor, and I wanted to check I was changing the right one when I get it, so I took a couple of pics hoping some will confirm if I've got it right
First one is of what believe is the crank sensor behind the alternator
Second one is a wider shot with that cavity being in the lower left
If anyone can confirm I've got it right, or set me straight, I'd appreciate it
Cheers
Paul

I.e take it to someone who knows what they're doing before I do any more damage
Or is there an easier way ?

I really was going easy on it, there was still a little play in the sensor so I figured it had a smudge left to go, and then it went. To be fair though it's only a tiny thin little bolt.
My dad, who is more au fair than I with this kind of thing, said they are two options but that I should leave both alone until a pro has had a go.
I guess we'll see who I can find and what they can do. fingers crossed it's not the end of the Jimny story for me

In a pinch I'd just turn the sensor slightly and use a self tapper to hold the sensor in.....I don't do negative thinking.....bring me a pack of carling and I'll drill and helicoil itMe and my Jimny wrote: fingers crossed it's not the end of the Jimny story for me

Keithy, I really like they self tapper idea, I assume you mean a small self tapping screw being driven in between the snapped bolt and the hole ?
I realise the sensor is also plugging a hole in the engine, do you know if it would have much pressure against it or is this literally just to stop it falling out when you go over a bump ?
Cheers
