Why would you need spring compressers?

Use a jack under chassis, unbolt shock mount, lower axle.

Correct, jack under chassis, support chassis on axle stand or similar. Remove jack and place under axle, undo shock and lower the axle down. If you need more space insert jack between radius arm and chassis and gently jack the two apart. Spring should knock out. If jacking the axle down be aware of possible brake pipe damage or drop link damage.

I have to say I am with Tom on this. Suspension is arguably only second in importance to tyres when it comes to vehicle dynamics. I spent nearly twice as much as the black raptor kit just on dampers and I thought they were cheap compared to some of the other better quality options. I know that not everyone has the same budget for such things and not everyone uses their Jimny like I do but surely decent suspension to keep it shiny side up is a good idea?

Couldn't agree more.

The Black Raptor seems to be getting a lot of attention these days. But not a single person seems to be interested in where the shocks comes from. For all I know they could be the absolutely cheapest shocks possible to buy. Pro Comp, AVO and Rough Country are cheap shocks too, but at least we know a little bit about where they come from.

Jimnybits claims that the shocks are matched specifically to the Jimny. But I'm pretty certain they are no more matched to a jimny than RC or Pro Comps are.

GRAYWOLF wrote: Did you need spring compressors to fit this kit? and how easy was it..bearing in mind i am sat here longing to fit mine, but got no spring compressors at moment.!!

You not need spring compressor just remove pan hard rod bolt and un-clip brake hose from chassis if needed
you may need help re-fitting pan hard rod (i used a ratchet strap) ;)
