Does anyone know if the roof rail on the suzuki jimny are solid all the way through or are they hollow allowing cables to pass along them on the inside. I have not tried to look as i have read the end caps are a pain to remove with the retaing clips being fragile and i will be dambed if i am going to be fleeced into buying new parts a stupid price for sake of wanting to know answer to my question.
I am in the process of installing a roof mounted light bar and dislike exposed cables.

As i understand it the rails are held on by captive studs coming out of the roof so routing cables will require drilling holes anyway so i would be inclined to put such a hole as close to the lights as possible and leave the bars alone. The other alternative is to repurpose the antenna mounting and send cables through it.

Hello.thanks for your advice and tip regarding the antenna tube i saw that and thought cool idea..tidy as well. I was studying the the rear of the jimny and the gap in rear door where the rubber seal is...and where the top of rear door ends in relation to plastic strip covers roof rail and where end covers on roof rails are located.
if the rails were hollow i can run my wiring loom for the light bar through the rail and out under plastic end pieces and under the last section of plastic cover aprox 2 inches.then down the gap of rear door.everything is hidden that way and no exturnal wires..i will give the antenna route a go first..thanks for the tip.

From memory they're not hollow but it's a while since I got rid of them so I may stand corrected.
