1/4 wave are huge :) Bending it over and clipping it will effect the performance though. I use a old school Modulator, still around 5' but not too whippy.

Yep, it is huge..lol..but great for dxing..been sidebanding for 30 odd years..it is clipped to front roof, when fitted, but obviously using it i unclip it..i use a 5ft thundepole for everyday, or a short whip..
CB seems to be dead nowadays, mobile phone seemed to sign its warrant, good point is not as many dipsticks keying up on ya tho.

I agree its very quiet on the cb but still great for convoy work or off road with your mates. :) I too use a 5' one for road use and a mini-springer for off road. :)

I swapped out my 3 yo LED Spotlights for some that give me better night vision over a wider area close at hand. Handy for bush driving at night, especially when spotting various animals up trees as well as on the ground. The new LED's worked exactly as planned and predicted last night and I am very happy with them. There has been a slight decreace in forward vision, from 800 metres to about 650 metres, but all around me is lit up like a christmas tree, with the animals eyes the reflective decorations.

Old lights

New lights

Will try and get a night photo if I can work out how to stop my phone from flashing.

Well worth doing, the modern LED's put out such a good amount of light I would not be without mine. :)
