Remember to check your drive shaft for leakage. Most likely you have the same as mine.
Seems no Norwegian cars have been doing the recall and service bulletin for this.

Norway 2005 Jimny M16A VVT, 235 BFG MT, 2" Trailmaster, ARB rear lck, 17%/87% high/low gears.

But thanks for the heads up :)

Winch mount done.. Pleased with the result!
Not sure if ill change to syntetic rope or just buy a fairlead for steel wire yet.

Modified the JB mount, moved the winch as far in as i could, and cut/welded the fairlead wall closer to the winch.
Had to remove the A/C fan to make room, but thats it..

Fitted the reg plate on the bumper using 3M duallock, so i can remove it when i need to..
Protects the winch and wire from alot of mud, salt and sun..
Even with a fairlead glider plate, it sits within the bumper.. Just the towing points sticking out..

Thats nice, a little Z2S silver where the winch comes out and it would look like a piece of the bumper!

Nice and tight!
No AC fan? Will that make the AC less effective only when not moving maybe?

I would still try to get a rope to replace the wire.

Yes, thats what i`m hoping for, that the AC will work as before unless i`m standing still.
There is room for a smaller fan , but i dont care much about it..
If the motor shows to run hot in offroad use, i`ll make a manual electric fan instead..

Syntetic rope looks like the way to go for safety! But there`s pro`s and con`s for both..
Theres everything from heat issues, alu fairliead that gets damaged if the hook is pulled into it (needs to be hooked to the tow point at all times), and contamination from the road etc..
Both alternatives probably needs a sack over the winch for longevity and less maintenance.

Bit late noticing it, but nice to see somebody has used my bolt in the hub locking technique!

Found the idea on Youtube (
) , but didnt know it was you! :)
Worked just as supposed, and was a very quick fix! Thanks for putting it out there.. (If the YT vid wasnt you, it might be based on you`re idea anyway)

Yes that's me. I've put a few random Jimny videos on YouTube. Nice to see they are useful :)
Yes Jack, 6.8mm is correct but in this instance it is not critical. There is very little force on the bolt.
