Just thought I'd share this with you.
This is the ULTIMATE mod.. and i love it ! It's still stock elsewhere.. but this'll still turn some heads!

I also mounted it a little higher to increase ground clearance (in a way) and it just looks better. Okay, so perhaps it doesnt increase clearance, but it looks like it should!

each to their own...

i really don't get spending hundreds/thousands on a set of numbers, that commonly mean nothing, except to the driver.

Its great to hide the age of the car, but its not that difficult to guess and be within 2-3years ;)

There's always a better Jimny than mine, out there somewhere. There's always a newer Jimny on the market, so hiding it's manufacture year was the last thought on my mind.

I just like the idea that no other Jimny (or any other car) has this exact mod.
Whereas most people on this site have had a set AT2's at some point in their life and you can buy bonnet protectors off the shelf.

Besides, this was an 18th birthday present and everyone else i know likes it.

I don't like them incorrectly spaced to spell a word but i like private plates. As you say its a personal mod. Great present for you, something to carry over to every car you own B)

When (a big when too) i can afford the spare cash i intend to get plates on retention for both my kids.
Not before i get my own though.

Black Jimny's don't get stuck!

bought mine when I was a web developer over 10 years ago the W3 was supposed to be WWW (world wide web - or world wide wait if you prefer) - NOT SUPPOSED TO BE - WE HAL :S

Transferred it to the wife's car a while back - now she won't give it back :(

Before the 61regs were out I bought AW61 KER and it is now on retention for when I get a car new enough for it to go on. It's supposed to read A WALKER as thats my name

Me and my dad have the same initials and he bought a private reg 30 years ago. In the photo albums there are old black and white photos with the plate on his cars when he was mid twenties and in the last 3 years the plate has been on my Astra VXR and Porsche so it's becoming a bit of a family relic.

Personally I like a private reg however I understand that they're not everyone's cup of tea. Anyway nice plate Luke. Also that Aus plate on ZookFastbacks is awesome! I saw J1MNY for sale a while back for about £9k, but that's a bit out my price range :(

If its a good plate that 90% of people can read... then its a great mod, if its words vaguely spelt, i can't see the point.

KAP have/had a good plate, something like J7MNY... still not as good as the J1MNY though!

Can't get onto the page at the moment, this work PC is shocking!

Great prezzie Luke, hope you enjoy it buddy :)

I'm off to look at a private plate for my little LJ, wonder what the law is and what will be available on such an old car
