Yeah Spring, my favourite time of year weather wise. Summer gets too hot.

We've got the muddy brown river too.

I timed the trip today 1.5 hours from door to beach. Checked out about 60 campsites. Was a great drive, only saw three other cars, one was a police Landcruiser on a training run. Sand was very soft 10psi was a little high. MTs don't like sand :(

A friend of mine has not long emigrated to Auz to join the WA Police. Obviously nowhere near you in Brisbane but she was out on some sand dunes learning how to drive a 4x4 on them in the last week or so - it's no point asking her what she was driving though as I could see her look of confusion from here in blighty if I tried to ask her!

Yeah WA and SA have all the dune driving, we're mostly banned from the dunes here in Queensland. Lots of our off roading areas are under threat at the moment, we're told it's environmental but usually it's due to a mining lease or the like… Bloody big corporations, Grrr!

I'm currently in Sydney visiting my mum for her birthday today, below are some pics from my 1000km journey southward. Tomorrow I head home to Queensland

Laurieton dinner stop

Camped overnight at Diamond Head camp ground, was a bit busy for my liking but I met a nice couple who let me share their fire :)
