Battery upgrade was created by Phattaff
Hi all
Can I just swap the batteries over or do I need to do something to save the vehicle codes?

Cheers in advance

Hi,
I've disconnected the battery on my 2009 GEN3 many times without issue. I have a replacement stereo head unit that has no code, can't recall if the OEM Clarion was code protected, so watch out for this just in case. Key codes and central locking also not had any issue. ECU fault codes (did you mean these?) could clear if the battery is disconnected for some time, but if it's a real fault it will soon be back.
Not sure if things are different for the GEN4.
What do you have?
Mike

Yokohama Geolanders, Sony head unit, NAUTILUS Air Horn, DRL conversion, Rear cargo space, Elvis Bobblehead, transfer Guard, Indian hanging Elephant, Koni Heavy track dampers, Custom SS exhaust, Voodoo Doll, Adventure Rack with LED ight bar, vintage ERIBA caravan usually attached (yes it's slow)
