In common with most vehicle manufacturers it appears that Suzuki sell these bearings by identfying them by Colour (or more accurately "color" as internationals cannot spell!)

So they are available in Black., Blue, Yellow, Red etc.

You are supposed to read the numbers from the engine and look up them up in a table to select the colour.

Here are some numbers from a 600cc engine

Does anyone have the info on decoding these to colours as they do not match the 1300cc tables

Do you have your engine apart Martin?

If so why? Have I missed something happening?

Martin, try looking at motorcycle forums. I remember seeing a shell colour chart back in (I think) 2005. I remember it because of the fiasco that followed, bearing colour and plastigauge colour was confused resulting in a second strip down. Chris

You set off my natural curiosity Martin. Like Chris, I was able to find info for motorcycle engines but nothing for the (I assume) JB23. The only information I found concerning the 600cc Jimny talked about determining bearings by taking measurements. The manual here K6A Manual is not specifically for a Jimny so not sure if it is helpful.
