The transfer lever on my 2001 model is stiff to operate, especially going into low range. It has been getting worse. Any ideas please?

Do you use it regularly? If not a bit of lubrication of the linkage might not go amiss. Also what condition are the transfer box mounts in, could they benefit from being replaced? After that an oil change might also help. Those are the cheapest options to try first.

I'd say it's not unusual. I use mine regularly and I find that it can be stiff one day and not the next but I've never worked out why.
