Slow wipers was created by wejxf03
I recently took my 2001 auto Jimny out for a spin and the wipers worked very slowly across the screen but speeded up a little when I used the washers. They did speed up a bit after use for a while.
Battery/alternator are good.
Just wondering if the motor and/or wheel boxes needed greasing?
Anyone else had this and know the cure.
Thanks in advance, John

Stupid question but was it raining? If i leave my wipers on when I go under Asda's car park they will slow significantly as they dry the screen and speed up again as the rain resumes when I go back outside.

Yes it was lightly raining and did get better when I used the washers so perhaps it's normal, just different to modern cars.

I think it can also be a problem with older more worn blades, certainly mine always seem a bit stronger when the blades are new. Or that is psychological.

Hi there did we a resolution to this query, I ask because I visited my daughters Jimny in Scotland to day , the first time since she took delivery a month ago.
Anyway as I test drove it .....the wipers are slow, on 2 speed they are what you'd expect from normal speed.
The blades are fine and I can confirm it was raining .......oh yes it WAS raining.

Mine have gone back to normal speed all on there own after a bit of use.
May of been as I hadn't used them for a while?
Mine is of 2001 vintage.
Blades look good but have ordered new ones anyway.

I've had this on an older (non Jimny) car and fixed it by cleaning the earthing for the wiper motor
