VVT Gear Reduction was created by minare
Hey,

I have jimny 09 VVT auto
i lifted 3"(jimnybits springs and radius arms and TM shox) locked R & F.
i drive stock size tires and i want to change size.
my ring and pinion ratio is 4.09.
from experience of friends with vvt auto and 215/75/15 it can be possible with no change but lost lot of power and top speed.
i dont want to use samurai TC.
my thinking is to change to 215/75/15 or 235/75/15
please give me the realistic options that i have (experience with Redacted will be great)

i also think about change ring and pinion
i know that my options are:

4.3 of manual vvt

what do you think? hope to hear from experience

thanks all

Guy

My reduction is 20%, its a Transfer Box Reduction gearset, they come in various other ratios.

Hey Ian,

do you have manual jimny or auto?
and is it vvt?
how can you find this set? is the reduction is good? or is this reduction is too low
you enladge you tires by 10% and reduce gears by 20%, in theory you are 10% low than stock

thanks

Hi Guy
I love the reduction I have and yes it does equate to an over all reduction of 10%.
My Jimny is a manual VVT version. I drive it both on and off road.

Ian
