Jimny stereo question was created by bertbuckie
Right, I bought my Jimny with no stereo....and didnt look at the wiring in the hole thinking...how bad can it be? lol
Well..... I am a spark to trade, however my fluke is at my mums house as I was wiring their house a while back because the sparks left a hell of a mess behind them ( new build )
So, I looked at the cables.... a block obviously for an aftermarket head unit which had been molested by a monkey, but there was only 1 black cable going to the block ( black cable, live im guessing ) and an aerial cable ( possibly duel used as an earth? )
Ohhh and another small block thats hard to reach which Im guessing is the speakers?
Can anyone enlighten me so I dont have to drive many miles and get my fluke ?

Also....my JVC I ordered for £2.75 on ebay - the seller let me down :( had to buy one of these instead and pay a massive £17! :(

I have two blocks on mine, black and the brown one.
The brown block is for the speakers and the black block has the power/earth wires.
Black wire = earth
Red = live with ignition
Yellow = Perm live. For radio memory.
Red/white = Not sure? Perhaps for electric aerial trigger??
Is that any help?

I'll go take a picture of it if you like?

Keith :)

Here you go......

OK..... ignore everything I previously said.
I just investigated further to find the monkey wiring is connected only to the black wire....into a spade connection.
Im guessing the other block is the speakers/neutral/live/permanent live etc
heres pics :)

Anyone with the same? is the black one connected to a spade connection meant to be there or is it an addon by someone ?
Is there an adaptor for this type of suzuki - sony head units?
really need to get my fluke black lol

well the black block you have goes to the stereo or loom or straight to stereo if fits but half wires have been cut you can re join but as the original suzuki block is intact i suggest scrapping the black connector loom that can unplug and buying a new adapter. otherwise if you dont know what your doing could be done wrong and buying a new adapter makes it so simple but check that the black wire has not been cut from the origninal suzuki connecter...if not your fine if so simply join it to the black on the new adapter you buy.

good luck hope it makes sense
