Please forgive me as this question may or have been asked before.
1.6 VVT lania engine in a 2006 Jimny
1) what parts are needed.
2) what do I keep from the lania engine.

Sorry for us not giving a full reply to this one.
Read and search and most of your questions would be answered before.
Also see my garage thread from when when i did this.
www.bigjimny.com/index.php/forum/8-my-ji...f-the-yakuza?start=0

And then some:
www.bigjimny.com/index.php/forum/7-jimny...-engine-swap?start=0

But the easy answer:
1. Service parts, tools, both engines, head cover gasket, maybe an oil filter adapter thing but you might even use the one you got as well.
2. The long block
3. Everything on the outside of the engine.

I actuallt have started to make a write up on this but have been slooow putting it up on the wiki.
Edit: no i haven't, it was the G16B swap i might soon upload to the wiki. -but i should do the m16 as well.

but please come back with follow up questions and we will answer to the best of our ability.
