4WD flashing was created by Jemjem
Hey everyone!  I have a 2014 Jimny and got to test her out at Mt Mee on the weekend.  It appears however, they we may have gone a little hard on her and now the 4WD will not engage.  The light continuously flashes and there is no noise to indicate it has "clicked" in.  Wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and what you did to fix it? Cheers!

The flashing means that the 4WD hasn't engaged (which you have already figured out). There are a number of reasons why this might be the case, a problem with the vacuum, faulty hubs or even a transfer box problem.

There is a good wiki page here
www.bigjimny.com/mediawiki/index.php/4WD...ion_system_operation

This describes the system of what needs to happen and suggests some common faults. There is quite a lot to check.

The link at the bottom of the wiki pages shows how to diagnose the fault.

www.bigjimny.com/mediawiki/index.php/4WD..._failure_diagnostics

This part seems most likely
Transfer box is in 2WD. Then 4WD is selected.
However, the 4WD light flashes and remains flashing.
The flashing is caused by the 4WD controller thinking
that the vacuum system has failed.

The transfer case has 2 cables on a plug that are a prime target to get damaged if you off-road.
Stick your head under the vehicle and check all is well in this area.
After that it follow the fault finding charts!!

Yokohama Geolanders, Sony head unit, NAUTILUS Air Horn, DRL conversion, Rear cargo space, Elvis Bobblehead, transfer Guard, Indian hanging Elephant, Koni Heavy track dampers, Custom SS exhaust, Voodoo Doll, Adventure Rack with LED ight bar, vintage ERIBA caravan usually attached (yes it's slow)

Agree this little electrical plug on transfer case has produced many a headache. Check it first.
