Hi,
First time poster, just picked up my 2005 Jimny last week. Immediately went and bought a set of stock steel rims and threw some 215 75 R15 all terrain on it! The plan next is to go for a 2" lift kit next, but I am worried about how this will affect insurance, and more importantly the NCT (in November).
Will I have to take the kit on and off each year or is it an non issue? Is it true that anything 2" or less in the UK is not classes as a full modification? Perhaps its the same here.

Any information would be appreciated!

Welcome to the forum. In the UK the mot is more concerned with the road worthiness of the vehicle rather than the legal status of the modifications within reason. Obviously if something is badly done it will be pulled up. How that translates to RoI I don't know.

Hello and welcome.
When I fitted my 40mm lift, I notified the insurance and that was it, no admin fee to amend the policy, no increase in premium either. All companies might not be the same though.
