New to Jimmy's... another question! was created by skydivernigel
And another question:
The date first registered is Dec 2018, the first keeper was registered in Dec 2019. I'm picking her up on Sunday.
So when did the 3 yr warranty start - 2018 or 2019?
Thx in advance,
Nigel

Sounds like it's an ex demo car as Suzuki stipulated that the demonstration fleet had to be available for a year prior to being able to be sold. I wouldn’t like to say for certain but if push came to shove I would be arguing for point of sale to the first private owner. It might be worth asking Suzuki uk for clarification.

That then puts the first private owner at a disadvantage. I would be expecting the suppling dealership to honour any claim regardless of what Suzuki said. After all a demonstration vehicle is going to have had harder use even though the mileage will be lower, rental car mentality.

That is why 'in normal times' ex-demonstrators are sold at a discounted price. Now the Suzuki dealership register it and then sell it on at an inflated price, simply because they can. The dealers that do this should rebrand themselves 'Dick Turpin' Motors. That then puts the first private owner at a disadvantage. I would be expecting the suppling dealership to honour any claim regardless of what Suzuki said. This was the case when I bought a demo from a Suzuki Dealership. It was a 1 year old car, but I got a full manufacturer's warranty starting from the date I took delivery.Sounds like it's an ex demo car as Suzuki stipulated that the demonstration fleet had to be available for a year prior to being able to be sold.
