Bonnet scoop? was created by Lambert
Whatcha. Before I get busy with the micro grinder do we know if anyone sells either a mesh or louvre replacement for the blanking plate on the bonnet scoop gen3? I ask as yesterday I had my first significant punt along the motorway and on reaching my destination there was significant heat escaping through the panel gaps around the bonnet which is leading me to think that additional ventilation might not be unreasonable. I accept that it would promote the ingestion of rain into the engine bay but the amount of heat generated would soon evaporate all but the very worst. Also I am not a fan of fake air ducting so if its there it might as well be functional.

Personally I'd just get rid of the vent. It doesn't do anything and doesn't need to be there. I can't see any advantage of extra cooling either. Engines generate heat, it's not a problem.

It's moulded into the bonnet skin. Removing is not an option.

They must have something, but failing finding OEM, stainless steel rodent mesh (various hole sizes available) looks good and can be shape easily. My 2CV has it as standard over the air intake (it's a Citroen part!)

Yokohama Geolanders, Sony head unit, NAUTILUS Air Horn, DRL conversion, Rear cargo space, Elvis Bobblehead, transfer Guard, Indian hanging Elephant, Koni Heavy track dampers, Custom SS exhaust, Voodoo Doll, Adventure Rack with LED ight bar, vintage ERIBA caravan usually attached (yes it's slow)

From one of the locals here in the Philippines that has access to a laser cutter:

Isn't a normal stock item but I could inquire. From memory, cost was equivalent to about $20 USD.
I would agree with Busta that it isn't necessary. I think the only reason I did it was that I didn't see the point in having a hood scoop that was blocked.

I started out with nothing & still have most of it left

I would suspect that postage costs would render that unviable? I agree that if Suzuki though it was necessary they would have done it themselves but I too have issues with fake vents and aero.

Does the diseasall have a top mounted intercooler?

I pondered a bonnet scoop some years back but couldn't find a reason to put any air over the engine by scooping it in.

Get another bonnet and remove the scoop and and skin it in carbon?

Or have vents that vent?

I think the diesel scoop is different?

I was thinking of opening up the horizontal planes of the louvres on the blanking plate?

The suzuki 'S' in my bonnet plate has mesh behind it as a vent. The bonnet plates were pretty easy to make and they cover a welded in section of mesh behind the S cut out. Works well too, but then its a little different to yours. Maybe the auto trans is adding to the temps under there for you? I have a thermal probe strapped to the bottom rad hose and it never goes above 60C

And loosing drive by cooking the transmission fluid is really high on my priority list! I will continue with design ideas thanks buddy. It seems that the plate has a complex reinforced grid at the back so opening it could create a monster whistle trap which would suck. More ideas.

You can try to order JB23 bonnet, it has a working scoop.
And while at it, you can also grab an AT radiator from JB23, which came from the factory.
