l was trying to get the 2000 mile check done on our 2020 Jimny and it seems that it has to be done by the supplying dealer.
As l bought it privately the dealer is too far away.
l contacted my local Suzuki dealer and they bounced it off. Fortunately it's only a check over and l can do it myself.

I think its mostly checking levels.

I had mine done at two months. They had it well over an hour, but I had asked them to lower the dipped headlights, so maybe they hadn't had to do this before.

Just checked and "has to be done by the supplying dealer" is not true, but many Suzuki dealers are turning people away because they cannot be bothered.

As the 2000 mile check is "voluntary" the dealer can decide to turn you away but Suzuki has told them it is poor business practice. Suzuki say get the customer in, start a relationship, sell them some accessories and get they servicing business, it makes sense.

So you have a poor dealer who clearly doesnt want any downstream business from you.

Oh dear, bought mine from East Anglia and really don;t want to go back there for the 2000 mile check. Guess I'll be seeing which dealers in Berks or North Hants want my business going forward then.

It may be worth enquiring about a 3 year service plan, they will probably be keen to do your 2000 mile inspection.

Good idea, but once it's out of warranty it won't see a dealer as it's an easy vehicle to service and l will do it myself.
l used to pay £250-400 every year to get the Defender serviced until l realised that l could get a full
service kit of genuine Land Rover parts for £85 and do it myself in a morning.
The Jimny is like the Defender in that it's easy to get to everything and needs no special tools to service it.

Mine is going in next week, for the 2000 mile or 2 month check. I am getting a couple of bits done too, so they were more than happy to book it in...

I have asked for them to look at my headlights too, as I am sure they are too high - seems like others have had similar 'high headlight' experiences.

l have been flashed a few times in our new Jimny by oncoming motorists as well.
Particularly if l am going uphill or over the top of any slight hill and there are no street lamps.
l think it's partially to do with LED headlamps in general, they are just so damn bright, and the light is so piercing, many new cars seem to be the same.
Plus you don't get a manual leveller as with ordinary headlamps.

Give them a flash back, they will soon see that they weren't on full beam...:)

Just had my 2,000 or 2 month check - the headlights were too high - they put it on the MOT ramp (?) and had to slightly adjust. Soon see if I get flashed on the way in to work tomorrow at 06:00!
