The only problem with my Gen. 4 are the seats. They offer very little lateral support. Has anyone got any suggestions as to what to fit in place of the originals? I need to be able to fit the seat belt mounting to them but the heaters and seat belt warning are not a priority.
Cheers.
Roger

Dunno what else might fit but my insurance got sniffy about my recaros and insisted on an engineer assessment incase I had modified the wiring. There is none for a gen3 so it was ok. It will depend on your insurance.

One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

Can you get them reupholstered? Been done here in Oz and the end result was better lumbar support and slight increase in bolsters.
Side bolsters weren't increased much so as to allow you to stay sort of stationary while the Jimny moves around. Better than being forced from side to side.

Cheers Lambert. Never had that problem when I fitted Recaros to my Landcruiser but that was close to 25 years ago.
Cheers crash 486. This may work as there is a guy in my home town who reupholsters vintage cars and rebuilt the bolsters on my Recaros after many years of use. If he can do it then the seat belt mountings and various wiring will be intact.
Cheers
Roger

I had the same issue, it was a 10 min fix, I got some seat foam (I had a bit in the garage) cut it to size then unclipped and unzipped the back of the drivers seat then pushed in the foam between the sprung bars in the seat and the front of the seat. Now my car is perfect.
