Two of them are hard core 4x4s aimed at the new Defender and the Jeep Wrangler, the third is an SUV.

This was very interesting and addresses some of 'issues' raised with a Jeep Wrangler/Rubicon/Gladiator - very interesting to watch.
I particularly like the 4 door Bronco they had advertised there...that thing looked capable.
Very exciting times. I do wonder if the price will be more Jeep Wrangler territory though - they are priced reasonably high.

What are the odds that us Brits will manage to get our hands on one of these in the UK? It's looking doubtful at the minute

The way the Bronco is set up it will make it a direct competitor to the new Defender in the USA, the estimated entry price is $29,995 (£23,000), it would be great if they bring them to the UK like they did with the Mustang..

The Wrangler has been moved more up market. But Jeep are greedy, or the UK/European public are idiots. Not really sure which tbh.Reason2doubt wrote: I am loving the move back to building capable 4x4's rather than bloated SUV's.

I went to the Wrangler UK launch in 2007 for the JK. £19k OTR for a 3 door and £21k OTR for the 5 door. And reports a few months later of being able to walk out of a dealership with a new 3 door for £17k, as they weren't selling. Not the Jeep put in any effort to try and sell them here though.
Then overnight to coincide with a mild facelift. The price jumped to about £36/7k. Which is why residuals on JK's have been crazy strong. I think now you'll still struggle to buy a 2007 model for under £11k.
Today the JL models start at Porsche Boxster money!!!! in the UK that is.
In the USA they start at $28k which is a lot cheaper entry price. The top models do still cost more though. But at least they are much more affordable.
The saddest thing is. the £50k Wrangle JL seems to be selling way better than it ever did at £19k.... odd how people, rich wealthy people will only buy something if it is expensive enough and totally ignore it is it isn't.

I think the Pretender is priced significantly higher. They start at $50k and if they are optioned like the UK ones, will need $10-15k adding to that.
But who knows, the Mustang is another oddity. Well priced at first over, then Ford added £10k to the price and sales seem to have rocketed.

Maybe they'll wait to see the popularity and demand.
They already have a good base in the Jimny and Toyota has an excellent dealer network in the US.
Hopefully some of the Toyata execs are old enough to remember how popular the Samurai was when it came out in the 80s and how the Jimny could possibly do it again.
Not everyone can afford a new wrangler or bronco & residual values are crazy. I'm sure a cheaper smaller 4x4 would fill a niche.
Make it for America as a Toyota and the rest of the world including Europe... as a Suzuki with the Toy low emission engines.
Looking for a nice clean and straight LHD Jimny..... Not any more.
Got one that seems to have been magnatized and driven through the "Big Jimny Bits" parts stores too quickly so it missed a few items.
