JB74W Wheel size help please was created by nichwan87
Good afternoon,

About to get a 2020 JB74W Jimny next month in Aus and would like to swap the alloys with steel rims

Can some of you very kind owners let me know if 15x6 offset 0 or 15x7 offset p3 would work better for this car?

Would the 7inch with a positive 3 offset cause any interference issues or would a 0 offset 6inch cause the tyres to protrude past the guards?

I'll be putting 215/75/R15 tyres on

Thank you

Try this online wheel offset calculator it should answer your question.

www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator#

The current SZ5 Jimny alloys are 5.5 inches wide with ET22 offset.

If I was replacing the stock wheels I would go for a 7 inch Wheel with ET0 offset, this will keep the wheel the same distance from your suspension components but will extend the wheel 40mm outwards giving you the effect of a 2 inch (ish) wheel spacer. With a 215/75/15 tyre you should have no issues, providing you don't choose an offset that brings the wheel closer to the suspension.

I thought that by examination we had determined that the gen4 had a 5mm positive et same as the gen3?

So taking that on board if you want the 215 tyre then a 6 inch rim is ideal. The et 0 option mentioned moves the wheel out 5mm which is fine but the extra width of the wheel actually makes it 7 mm closer at the edge. This is not a problem. The outside of the wheel will be 12 mm further out which is again not a problem.

Sorry Gents, I took the information on 'Jimnybits' website for granted. They clearly specify the OE wheels are ET22, I stand corrected.
