Can make things worse, on the other hand old oil or even new oil wont harm, sprayed over stuff? Its getting rid of all moisture underneath that's difficult

In my opinion only real way to do anything under a jimny
Is remove all factory under seal
Rust creeps under it
Use paint where possible and when you see a rust bubble appear sand down and paint again
Or spend a fortune and send it to BUZZWELD and get it done properly ;)

As long as you clean first, let it dry properly, and put on something oily sticky afterwords you can't go wrong.

The most rusty car is not the treated one, it is better to do something than nothing.

I filled the sills with old sticky gear oil on my SJ, and when it finally was thrown away the sills was the only thing not rusted.
