Where to get mud tyres?

Hi guys

My local tyre place doesn't really do mud tyres but will change them for me if I get some online. I found some on tyre leader.co.uk but then read their terms and conditions and it says they're an Andorran company and therefore the sale is subject to Andorra law. So I ditched that idea.

Can anyone tell me any good, reliable online tyres places for muds?

Cheers

I used tyre leader for some steel wheels and winter tyres for a hatchback.

The transaction went fine though the bank flagged it up as suspicious and I had to confirm payment,

DPD delivered the order from Europe pretty quickly.

Cheers Dan

Good to know they're OK if I need to, but at the moment I'd feel more confident getting something already in the uk

I use camskill for all my online tyre purchases, based up near workington or somewhere in Cumbria, very good prices and lots of choice.

4x4tyres.co.uk

This UK based company seem to specialise in 4X4 tyres, I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the do not offer a fitting service. Your local garage sound very good the fact that they're willing to help you out and install mail order tyres. My local garages seem to have a strict policy of fitting tyres that they've supplied only. I expect they'd give way eventually, but I'd end up getting shafted for £££££ in order to get them fitted and balanced. If there's anyone that lives in the Southwest Area (Bristol/North Somerset) that could recommend a decent tyre shop give me a PM.

Thanks lambert, I'll have a look at their site.

Dagzook, I was really after good personal experience, they all look good if they have what youre after

Jack, I'm not after anything specific, decent muds in the right size will be fine but don't have to match the rest. I didn't want this to become a which tyre thread, just trying to find an online shop people trust

Cheers

For every retailer you'll find good and bad experiences. Is there a reason you are being so cautious?

Just pay be a secure means if you are worried. Or pick one more local to you and physically collect the tyres and pay on collection.

There really are loads and loads of suppliers.

As for Mud tyres, there is HUGE variance in treads and styles and intended use. As well as sizes. Not every retailer will sell or stock everything. In fact none will stock and sell everything. Way too much choice out there.

You'd be better off deciding what tyre you want and in what size, then finding someone who has it in stock and compare prices.

The reason for being cautions is the Mot ran out and I need the tyres to get the new one. Garages round here are already closing, so I want to order with confidence so I stand more chance of getting it done before I can't any more

Seeing that first one was in Andorra just made me question it. In that case Dan confirmed they were OK for him before, but with travel restrictions and 35 mile traffic jams across Europe id rather not give them a go at the moment

In the current climate I don't think any past experiences count for a huge amount sadly. So much is unknown.

I've purchased my own winter tyres in the past and rang around a few tyre places and the best quote was £30 to change 4. They should charge about the same price per tyre that they would charge to repair a puncture.
