The hybrid system only knocked off 8g/kg of CO2 from the standard car??

And the loan hybrid Swift I drove did less MPG than the standard loan Swift I had previously. However this was the 12v hybrid that is on the standard Swifts, both with the 1.2 Boosterjet engines.

I did read a report that the current surge of hybrid models has more to do with reducing the manufacturers portfolio of overall emission rather than saving the planet. The electric component is just it enough to reduce the test emissions, but in real lift use spends most of time time flat. The result is you are just lugging the extra weight of empty batteries etc around on petrol, usually resulting in less mpg and more emissions than the none hybrid version.
I don't know if it's true or not, but interesting you also experienced less mpg. Coincidence or fact?

Yokohama Geolanders, Sony head unit, NAUTILUS Air Horn, DRL conversion, Rear cargo space, Elvis Bobblehead, transfer Guard, Indian hanging Elephant, Koni Heavy track dampers, Custom SS exhaust, Voodoo Doll, Adventure Rack with LED ight bar, vintage ERIBA caravan usually attached (yes it's slow)
