Gen4 SZ4 Head Unit was created by GeezerDan
Have any Gen4 SZ4 owners changed the head unit to similar to the SZ5 head unit? If so, what head unit did you opt for and was fitting easy?

Originally wanted an SZ4 so looked in to this. Something like a unit from a swift about £200 on ebay but it needs coding to your car (something on that lines) so an expensive trip at a dealers.

Thought I'd ask again as this post is from a while ago now. A few questions really on SZ4 modifications:

Has anyone:

1. Changed the head unit and if so to what?
2. Installed rear speakers, is the wiring there?
3. Installed a rear 12v socket, is the wiring there?
4. Other interesting modifications?

Thanks and stay safe.

Hi buddy,

I haven't done any of those things to my sz4.
Next on my list are a lift and some new tyres perhaps 235's. I also want some side decals lol

I've been quoted 950 fitted for a lift kit made by ironman I think.

Hi mate, lift kit sounds good, I think Martin is doing a video on a lift kit and part 1 is out and it's on the gen 4 mod thread, the one that's locked. I've no idea if that's a good price or not. Are you keeping the steel wheels or going for something else with the tyres?

I've read that you can get 16 inch wheels with 225 tyres on without the need for a lift kit or any cutting so this might be preferable as the car will be taller on 16 inch wheels anyway.

Wheels and tyres are about 300 a corner. This is all pie in the sky stuff while I'm sat here doing nothing all day lol

"225" tyres is not enough info, what's the other number? ( The last number will be 16 of course)

So they would be 1 inch bigger in diameter ( subject to the true rolling diameter of the chosen tyre) This makes it 4% larger.

I think the unwritten guide is that 6% is not tolerable, so looks like they are close but on the right side.

I took the four plastic plugs from the roof liner at the rear and pulled the roof liner down, I can't see any wiring for a rear light but the bracket is there. There's a thick black plastic pipe running from left to right and along the front of the bracket but I think that's the rear windscreen wash line.

Hi from Spain!!

The rear washing line for the water runs in the lower right hand of the car, at least in a LHD car.

I have a SZ4 and the only thing that I am missing is the rear roof light and the heated mirrors.

Regards.
