Apple CarPlay

Is anyone here using Apple CarPlay? How are you finding the connectivity?

I found it to be a little hit and miss. Such as if you plug the phone in and then start the car up. Or plug it in before the Inforainment system has fully booted.

But it’s a little inconsistent. As I have left my phone plugged in and stopped the engine at the petrol station and when I’ve restarted it has auto connected.

Great when it works though.

Same with Android Auto. On first start, let the system fully boot up before connecting the phone. A good indication is when the Nav has finished saying Initialising.

I have found the same, a bit hit and miss. I find that the sequence of a) start engine, b) connect phone, c) launch Apple CarPlay, seems to work. And yes, I do go through the sequence whenever I stop for petrol or similar short stops.
However, a few times when I forgot to do as above and left the phone plugged in, it sometimes has worked. Inconsistent indeed. As you say, great when it works. I am doing the 'one month' visit next week. It is on my list to ask the dealer.
