Suzuki Jimny 2007 problem 4WD was created by Cvejic
Hello everyone,
my problem is that my jimny remains stuck in 4wd hi, the bulb on the board turns on and off at 1 second intervals.
It stays so stuck and 4wd works and cannot return to 2wd. To get back to 2wd I need to unplug the 4wd switch and by pushing the cabin to 2wd it turns off 4wd. Without unplugging 4wd switch, it is not possible to 2wd.
What is the problem?

Welcome to the forum. By the sound of it this is an electrical problem and the easiest thing to do first is check the condition of the wires coming from the transfer box for obvious damage or bad contacts.

The wires were checked without damage, both 4wd switches are new.
I suspect the ball behind the 4wd switch,
Did balls can make such a problem?
To mention, the problem occurred to me the second time I started 4wd, it was first successfully switched on and off(4WD HI and 4WD LO).

Is it really once per second for the flashing? The computer on the electronic version flashes twice per second or five times per second.

See the wiki for details.

At me then it flashes twice a second, I did not measure accurately. To mention, no matter what it is flashing light 4wd works, the problem arises at shutdown 4wd. The 4wd switch made the joint, so i'm interested in what the role of the ball bearing is and if there can be a problem in it?

The ball is effectively acting as a detent to provide correct location for the switch to work against.

Is there any other part, spring or something?

Presumably, the ball is to stop the peg of the switch getting chopped off.

On the lever transfer, the switch only switches when the ball drops into the detent on the shaft, which is only when fully in 2WD. All the rest of the time the ball presses the switch and keeps it pushed. Remove the ball, and the switch will be not pressed all the time and the transfer will never figure out it is in 4WD.

I assume the electric transfer is similar.

As disconnecting the switch gets 2WD, I'm guessing that pressing the switch turns it OFF, and it turns ON when the ball falls in the detent.

It can never work properly without the ball to add the "extra press"

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

First I have to unplug the 4wd switch and then by pressing 2wd in the cabin I go to the rear drive. To get back in ( 4wd hi ) I need to plug in a 4wd switch. (4wd lo) cannot be included. To mention that I Suzuki Jimny bought with a faulty 4wd system. When mounting new 4wd switch I successfully switched from 2wd to (4wd hi and 4wd lo) and successfully returned to 2wd. After 10 minutes I tried again and I got this problem.

I had a similar problem on New Year's Eve in a 2011 Jimny. I had to use 4WD to reverse up a bank on rough ground to watch the fireworks. I then tied to put it back in to 2WD and the 4WD light just flashed.

It would select 4WD or 4WD-L but not 2WD. I switched the engine off, waited 10 seconds and put it back on, it then switched back in to 2WD and seems to have been fine since. It works fine in all 3 modes, just that one off selection problem.

Just two other thoughts....

When I first tried to switch out of 4WD to 2WD I was on a hill, facing downwards; and
I was probably also still in reverse with the clutch in.

Would the hill or in reverse cause a problem? I saw the comments about the 'ball' dropping in to place.

I probably put it in to neutral, but can't quite remember the sequence. All I know is I couldn't shift back in to 2WD until after cutting the ignition.

I'm still without a solution. I checked ball bearing and it's okay. The figure shows that there is a spring, what is the role of the spring and in what position should the switch be held? Did anyone have a problem with the spring?
The part bears number 14
