Looking at a number of Gen 4 Jimnys, my eyes have been drawn to what looks like 'freehand' drilling and fixing of number plates. Do supplying traders not use a template of guide to ensure a precise, consistent and aesthetically pleasing finish?

I'd be seriously miffed if I had waited months for delivery, paid top dollar and received a new car with squinty fastenings drilled through the number plates. On the other hand some garages seem to use adhesive pads to attach the number plates for a neater finish.

How do other Gen 4 owners feel?.

I asked for my plates to be fixed with adhesive pads, and they were.

Squint plates would be well nigh impossible for me to live with.

I actually asked for mine to be screwed before delivery, especially after seeing numerous vids of the promotional vehicles having their reg plates catapult off in water and mud. Quite spectacularly on some of the vids. Plus it meant if i wanted to do anything that may require the reg to be removed i could.

Mine does seem to be straight fortunately. Though one thing i've noticed after 1500 my front reg has actually bowed outwards slightly in the middle, don't know if that is due to tightened screws and air flow getting behind it making it bounce or worst case some lowlife trying to nick the reg.

Mind you on this shot when Jurassic arrived at the dealers prior to registering you can see you could technically have a reg plate in different positions but for euro plates there is a fair amount of space on the sides so you can half see how they could get them wonky but it is still frustrating.
