All I can add is I chose to run a tap through all the threads on the slider itself (M12 coarse). I found the things so awkward I wanted all the bolts to go in first time.
I didn't use a jack or ramps and relied on the old gearbox on belly technique (on the principle that it can't fall on you if it's already on you). The only extra piece of advice I can offer is to phone a friend, this has got to be easier with two.

For all I have against the additional weight of these they are actually quite discreet, especially compared to the Italian ones.

Temeraire (2018 quasar grey automatic)
One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

@ Gadget, may I ask after more that 6 months how are you finding the rock sliders? Any impact on handling, mpg, other? I do relatively long distance on roads to get to mountain tracks which are rocky, have ruts, etc. Hence I am considering these as well as the fuel line and TB protections. I also like the looks of them! Many thanks.

I have the Jimnybits sliders. Nice fit. Seem solid and well made. Have used in anger and protected the sill. They are too light and low down to notice any mpg or handling changes with them IMO.
