I am needing some help with getting my Jimny to run. There is a part of the Fuel injection system that when it is on the Jimny will not really idle but when we take it off it will idle. It seems to be some type of air inflow sensor but I am not familiar with the electric systems. Attached are pictures of the part and where it is located on the engine. If anyone has more experience and knowledge with this part or system any input would be appreciated thank you.

Also this part gets pretty hot when trying to start the engine so it makes me believe there is some kind of blockage causing pressure or something possibly?

What year Jimny is that, because it doesn't look like an engine I recognize?

Ah right well that is way before my time so can't really comment. Has you googled the part number to find a replacement, only I agree that its probably not supposed to get hot when starting.

So it appears to be a vacuum solenoid valve which I suspect is probably used to advance or retard the timing at idle. That makes it kinda like the hub solenoid on the lat cars so it could be possible to spray some brake cleaner in it and see if it frees up the action. It is however just as possible that the actual coil is fried and its beyond saving.

ISC Valve

Idle Speed Control Valve....a similar rotary valve is on the later Jimny controlled by PWM

Plenty of penetrating fluid and see if it frees off.......it will get warm as it's a coil of wire which is effectively shorted out.
