For starters I have to apologise for my english. I speak it better then I spell, but I hope that you will understand my question .

My question is can you fill up the transfer box with new oil? Where is the hole to fill it up.
I have a leakage somewhere in the box and I know that I will have to fix it. What type of oil do I have to use??
I have a 2007 Jimny

Thankfull for your help

Welcome to the forum. There is a fill hole about half way up on the back of the transfer box. It has a 10mm square internal plug in it. Its fairly obvious when you look at it. You can sometimes get away with just using a 3/8 drive ratchet handle to undo the plug but it runs the risk of rounding off the corners of the plug making it very difficult to remove. It is best to buy a proper 10mm drain plug key as that will make the job easier. All the oil grades and quantities are listed in the wiki section at the top of the page.

Absolutely get a 10mm drain key, theyre only a couple of quid on eBay but it's worth it so you don't round the plug and cause headaches. Use you're favourite penetrating fluid a few times before you try crack the nut.

Thank you for your advices. I think I have a 10 mm at home to fit the plug.

Good idea to undo the filler plug befor I empty the oil.
