Guys I currently have 235/75/15 king pin extremes. One tyre is ripped. I have been waiting weeks for a tyre from kingpin they had problem with parts. I can’t wait anymore can anyone suggest reasonably priced mud tyres ? Very little on road use maybe 30 miles a week. Going to need 4 :(

No idea if the transfer box has been done. No vacuum hub popes on car need to change to manual but worry now about the clutch with my current set up. I just like the stance of 235/75 so would like to keep

Cheers Jack

I think I might just switch to Insa turbos following the trend.

Now to pick a pattern.

Special Track matches my current tread. (I can live with the noise)

Also considering the Dakar and Sahara.

Would like to get a bit of snow fun if the off chance snow happens (usually get a bit here in Wales)

Any thoughts on these 3 ?

When you say snow fun what do you mean, donuts in closed yards or safely out in the hills looking for the perfect winter wonderland picture confident that the you are going to make it home in one piece?

Temeraire (2018 quasar grey automatic)
One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

I like the look of insa turbo K2's but not sure they do your size
Also you could buy a good none retread for the price of K2's

This ^^^^^^
There's some really very competent new tyres available for the price of remoulded ones these days especially if you are looking for all round performance.

For snow performance something with sipes in generally work better. Aggressive MT's are ok in fresh snow, but can lack on compacted or frosty snow or ice. I'd also sway to something more on the narrow side too for snow use.

For general off roading, something like a Diamond pattern would probably suit the Jimny IMO.

They look to be based on the Maxxis Trepadore Competition pattern. Ziarelli were selling these a couple of years back. They look cool, although I'm not sure how well they would perform on British terrain.

The genuine Maxxis ones use a special sticky compound and aren't designed for winter use, in fact they even have special instruction for cold weather storage to prevent the rubber being damaged by the cold. I suspect they are designed for things like the Mint 400 and King of the Hammers, on generally dry, hot hard and dusty sandy and rocky terrain with areas of baked mud. Terrain we just don't really have in the UK.

I'm sure the remoulds will not be using a special rubber compound. They look like they should be a fairly ok mud terrain, but probably not as good as some others that are available.

Thanks for the advice guys. Any thought on if I should reduce the tyre ? Not sure if I would need to change wheel then but like I said I think it’s a standard box.

Highly unlikely to be doing any rock climbing :side:
