Hi Guys
Collected a little silver Jimny today with a VVT badge on the side and a lovely big cigarette burn in the crotch area of the drivers seat! I really don't care this is dad's runabout while my mrs uses the family gas guzzler.
I built most (the good bits) of that blue Jimny that's on the front page of your site with the external cage but that was years ago before I had kids to deal with, I'd love to hear from whoever owns it now!
I'm not planning on overly modding this thing I think it is perfectly capable of doing what I want to do on a decent set of boots and correct pressures.
Looking forward to getting back into the Jimny scene hope everyone is well!

Welcome back. Were you called Jimny Stu on here the first time round as I don't remember that name on here and I've been on here from not long after the start of the forum.

Hi All
So no pictures yet as who's not seen a Jimmy before but I took it out for a proper test around Northumberland on friday with my mate who fancied a jolly out and about - happy to report the thing runs like a little champ I had it through all the ranges and up and down some green lanes I know out by Rothbury and it performs well even on naff road boots.
Weather was crap at the weekend so I only had Sunday afternoon to really start to get into the thing I see a dry engine bay although something has exploded sticky schmoo all over the inner arches at some point or it's been driven through a river of honey, I got wrong for using two packs of baby wipes to clean it off with as the gunk would not wipe but it would 'roll' off.
I may have just managed to by accident not buy a lemon!

Nice one!
The sticky gunk is probably waxoyl or similar, which is a good thing to find
Which lanes around Rothbury did you try? there was a fair bit of rain this weekend so the fords would have been risky (especially Brinkburn Priory)
