Just investigating the idea. Has anyone replaced the clocks and tacho etc with one of the obd11 displays obviously it would need the warning lights separate but in principle is it viable or is the cluster linked to the ecu in a way that prevents the 2 from working independently?

Cheers.

That kinda thing but the car version not the bike one. It's more if the existing cluster is linked to the ecu in a complicated way that will be more of the issue?

I think the car works fine without the cluster attached. It is basically just a display..

The mileage will be lost i think as it is probably stored in the cluster.

Sooooo. I can spend as much as I earn on a dash that actually works with all the current lights built in. I can also spend an almost manageable amount to get one with the basics but not things like srs or eml or immobilization warning. Ooooorrrrrr and I'm liking this idea I can spend some cake money and instead of replace the existing cluster I can duplicate the important bits like an adjustable speedometer and variable shift light and actual temperature with one of the little boxes like Dave's S200KYS has. While I love the idea of bits of aluminiumiumiumiumiumium dotted here and there with little blinken lightens all over like a rally car in reality I don't have the budget, the existing cluster works vaguely so the question is, is it pay day yet?

I've got one similar to that on a bike - its tiny. No real use except to pass the MOT.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.
