And you're going to keep pouring good money after bad until you've measured the actual wheel you're fitting, there's too many variations of nut seats on aftermarket wheels.

Get a protractor just a cheap plastic school one and rest it across both edges of the nut hole in the wheel, then with a suitable straight edge that is narrow enough to fit through the hole and rest on the chamfer. Use this to read off the angle on the protractor. If the straight edge only touches on two points when through the hole and you can see daylight in a small semi circle then the seat is a radius and measuring that is more involved.

Yes and just to be sure if you remove one nut and look at the wheel you should be able to see where the nuts marked the paint
also paint may have transferred onto the nut should be a mark around 2.5mm from the nut face :)

Put it this way...

If the wheels are staying on and you haven't got any wheel wobble they are working ;-)

Fitting nuts that are wrong will bugger up the wheel balance and possibly damage the wheel. Driving at low speeds wouldn't be noticed, but get up to 65-70mph and it will be shaking worse than Elvis.

A easy test, to be certain, would be to take a wheel off and try sitting a wheel nut in one of the holes. if it fits snug then and doesn't wobble about easily then all is well, if its slipping around and not matching the shape of the hole, it is wrong. Nice simple test ;-)

So what, if you're happy with the nuts sitting in the holes, is actually causing you concern?

I asked if my alloy wheel nuts would be ok with these wheels and was told I needed steel wheel nuts for them
